Organizational Accomplishments:
Beginning in 1987, together the SFC of Prince George’s County members and Ziguinchor SFC have many successes:
§ Implementing a student and teacher exchange program
§ Funding a well-water project with AFRICARE
§ Donating school supplies and computers
§ Donating school supplies and computers
§ Providing first aide supplies
§ Donating two ambulances
§ Opening a Business Development Center
§ Hosting Prince George's County SFC Delegations in Ziguinchor, Senegal
§ Hosting Senegalese SFC Delegations in Maryland and Washington, DC
§ Assisting women’s organizations with micro loans and in advancing business practices
Most recent trips:
In 2005, a delegation from Prince George’s County, MD went to Ziguinchor, and in 2008, a delegation from Ziguinchor came to Prince George’s County to celebrate our many years of our Sister-City relationship and pledged to further our shared goals.
