The Senegal Friendship Committee of Prince George's County is a member organization of Sister Cities, International®. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organzation.
The Senegal Friendship Committee of Prince George’s County, Maryland, USA has a formal County-Sister City relationship with the Commune De Ziguinchor since 1987. This relationship was officially formed on March 21, 1987 when a proclamation was signed in Ziguinchor, Senegal declaring the twinning of the two jurisdictions with a vision to promote cultural, education, social, and economic exchanges.
The Senegal Friendship Committee of Prince George’s County (SFC) is an organization formed of citizens of Prince George’s County, Maryland, USA. The SFC is a member organization of Sister Cities International®. Sister Cities International is a nonprofit citizen diplomacy network that creates and strengthens partnerships between U.S. and international communities.
The SFC members and supporters are private citizens, municipal officials and business leaders joined together to conduct long-term sister city programs and exchanges. We believe that sister city programs need two-way relationships and should mutually benefit both partnering communities. Our goals are to:

- Develop our partnership between the Prince George’s County SFC members and identifiable citizen members and municipal officials in Ziguinchor.
- Provide two-way opportunities for citizens and municipal officials to experience and explore other cultures through long-term community partnerships.
- Create an atmosphere in which economic and community development can be implemented and strengthened.
- Stimulate environments through which communities will creatively learn, work, and solve problems together through reciprocal cultural, educational, municipal, business, professional and technical exchanges and projects.
- Collaborate to achieve these goals, recognizing our similarities as well as our differences
